Stichting The Weather Makers
Company versus Foundation
In 2017, The Weather Makers B.V. (TWM) embarked on an ambitious project to address the existential threat of climate change and the associated issues of ecological degradation, water scarcity, and regional instability. This initiative, known as the Bardawil & Sinai Initiative, seeks to restore the Sinai Peninsula’s ecosystems through a holistic, nature-based approach.
The project aims to regenerate Lake Bardawil on the Mediterranean coast and expand these efforts to inland areas, ultimately transforming the region's environment and enhancing the quality of life for its inhabitants. The Weather Makers specializes in large-scale biosphere restoration to restore the water cycle by innovating novel solutions and interventions based on scientific and engineering principles.
The fundamental belief that ecological regeneration can address root causes of instability, such as food and water insecurity, remains strong. This belief drives the ongoing efforts to secure broader support and collaboration, to be able to start this unique initiative. Therefore, the Weather Makers Foundation (TWMF) was established to continue this crucial work. The TWM and TWMF will jointly chase the mission.
The TWMF focuses on linking landscape-scale ecological restoration with enhanced water and food security, promoting stability and peace in the region. By restoring the Sinai Peninsula's ecosystems, we aim to create a blueprint model that can be replicated across arid and semi-arid lands globally.

Today, the daily operations of The Weather Makers B.V are set-up in a commercial entity and therefor a B.V. as we believe regeneration should be the future largest industry and should be financially sound. The set-up of such industry is still in the making. To enable the socio-economic benefits feasibility within the project via G2G funding a foundation is needed. The foundation with ANBI status has been set up as an instrument to enable the vision of regreening the world via watershed wide ecosystem regeneration.
The Weather Makers Foundation and its affiliated company, The Weather Makers, recognize the importance of transparency and openness in achieving their shared goal of large-scale ecological regeneration. The Weather Makers Foundation employs the services of The Weather Makers B.V. in order to carry out work under the umbrella of a shared mission and vision. -
